THE RETREAT

The 'Retreat' nestles neatly adjacent to the farm yard with view out over Ryedale to the South and towards the sunset in the West. It is set within it’s own enclosed parking and garden area, giving you a little extra privacy and security for children.

The 'Retreat' is a bright and modern, 2 bedroom holiday home, accommodating up to 5 people to use as a base to explore the attractions of North Yorkshire and the landscape of the North York Moors National Park. We are ideally located to enjoy off road walking and cycling routes from the farm and to appreciate a wealth of nature  around us and also the starry skies of the International Dark Skies Reserve that we are located within.

Our Farmstay location has no passing traffic, but is only 3 miles from the main A170 between Helmsley and Pickering, which leads out to the Coast at Scarborough and Whitby and is it only 45 minutes to Historic York for a bit of shopping and culture. So plan your busy days out on the Heather Moorlands, the Jurassic Coast, Historic Cities and Local Market towns, knowing that you'll be able to relax and chill in our rural setting when you arrive "home" for the night.

…Short Stay Breaks for Foodies!

Grab yourself a hearty breakfast in the Retreat, but why not treat yourself to eating out for your main meals during your stay? We are so fortunate to be surrounded by numerous great places to eat including the Michelin Star Restaurants at the Star Inn and the Pheasant in Harome, The Bistro at Beadlam Grange Farm Shop and exceptional Seafood Food, Steaks and Sunday Dinners at The Plough Inn at Wombleton… and then there is all that Helmsley and the other local villages have to offer. Local Eateries and Takeaways are plotted on the map on the “Local Area” page.

…Activity Friendly!

Our location is ideal as a base for keen walkers and cyclists with endless routes starting right from the farm gate or endless walking and cycling routes available within the wider National Park setting. An outside tap is located behind the Retreat to wash muddy boots and we can securely store you bike on site if required. We have plotted some routes on the map on the “Beadlam Rigg” page to get your adventure started.

Beadlam Rigg

…Or after a quieter stay?

The Retreat's West facing patio area is a great spot to relax with a book or sit and enjoy the nature around you. Our garden and hedgerows are full of birds and buzzards glide overhead. Within a 1 miles walk to the North of the farm you will be rewarded with extensive panoramic views of Heather Moorland to the North and Ryedale to the South. We are located within an International Dark Skies Reserve so after taking in a beautiful sunset you can sit out at night an enjoy a vast and starry night sky.
