The Bothy

Ryedale's coziest cottage, which offers the reward of extensive panoramic views of the Heather Moorland of the North York Moors National Park, just a short walk from your base by day and the luxury of a wood fired hot tub to enjoy the view of the stars at night.

The Bothy is a delightful self-contained, open space providing king sized bed, ensuite, kitchen, sitting area, outside terrace sun trap and free WiFi. The barn conversation has been completed to an exceptionally high standard combining beautiful detailing and practicality. 

Our location offers:
• A great base for cycling, walking or simply relaxing
• A chance to stay in the North York Moors National Park within a converted, traditional building, on a working farm with a hot tub.
• A south & west facing terrace sun trap which catches the sun from dawn to dusk
• A panoramic view of the open skies above Ryedale, breath-taking by day -but also by night! We are located within the North York Moors International Dark Skies Reserve and have fantastically dark night skies for star gazing.

We are blessed with stunning scenery all around us. So after a hearty breakfast, you can walk or cycle all day on the moors or within the woodlands of the North York Moors National Park, directly from the farm, getting back to rest your aching muscles and take in the beautiful sunset from the hot tub.   

After a revitalizing hot shower, maybe cook something special, relax for the night and retire to the comfy king sized bed. Or treat yourself to a meal in one of the many great restaurants and bars we have in the area. There are not one but two Michelin Star restaurants within 5 miles of the farm in Harome.  

Once you are at the farm there is no passing traffic so you can relax and enjoy your holiday in comfort & peace.  We are located only 4.5 miles from Helmsley, which is a lovely market town and has everything you will need from the bacon and bread to make your breakfast, to a fully tailored tweed suit! A number of Taxis operate in the area, but pre-booking is advised.

Grab yourself a hearty breakfast in the Bothy, but why not treat yourself to eating out for your main meals during your stay? We are so fortunate to be surrounded by numerous great places to eat including the Michelin Star Restaurants at the Star Inn and the Pheasant in Harome, The Bistro at Beadlam Grange Farm Shop and exceptional Seafood Food, Steaks and Sunday Dinners at The Plough Inn at Wombleton… and then there is all that Helmsley and the other local villages have to offer. Our location is ideal as a base for keen walkers and cyclists with endless routes starting right from the farm gate or endless walking and cycling routes available within the wider National Park setting. An outside tap is located close to the door to wash muddy boots and we can securely store you bike on site if required. We have plotted some routes on the map on the “Beadlam Rigg” page to get your adventure started.

The Bothy's south facing patio area is a great spot to relax with a book or sit and enjoy the nature around you. Our garden and hedgerows are full of birds and buzzards glide overhead. The Bothy looks out over our pony’s paddock and the sheep handling pens so there is plenty to see even if you don’t head out for a gentle stroll along the Rigg. We are located within an International Dark Skies Reserve so after taking in a beautiful sunset you can sit out at night an enjoy a vast and starry night sky.

A £60 Damage deposit is taken at the time of booking and will be returned within 10 days following your stay provided that there have been are no issues/damages.

ACCOMMODATION FEATURES

The Space

The Bothy is a delightful self-contained, open space providing accommodation for 2 adults which comprises: a comfortable king sized bed, ensuite with a large shower, a fully equipped handmade kitchen, sitting area and free WiFi. Outside there is a Wood Fired Hot tun, a sun trap patio seating area looking out over the Pony's Paddock and our orchard. The Bothy has been completed to an exceptionally high standard combining beautiful detailing and practicality. 

Home Comforts

The Bothy is a bright, well insulated, cozy space with central heating. The handmade kitchen area is fully equipped and includes an induction hob, small counter top oven, microwave, kettle, fridge with icebox and dining table and chairs. The ensuite has a large shower, demisting mirror, toilet and basin. Towels and bedding are provided. The living space has two relaxing chairs, a comfortable king sized bed, free Wifi, USB charging points by the bed and a Smart TV.  Robes, logs and firelighters etc are provided for the Hot tub should you wish to use it.

Little Extras

A welcome pack is provided which includes; Tea and Coffee, biscuits, milk, sugar, butter, Marmalade, oats and cooking oil. Faith in Nature Hand Soap and Body Wash is provided in the bathroom.

Sorry but unfortunately...

In the interest of other guests & the safety of our nearby farm animals, we do not allow pets within the Bothy and there is also a no smoking policy. 

The Bothy is Adult only accommodation.

 Booking online is the quickest way to secure your chosen dates, whist we are out working on the farm, as we are not always near the computer to take your booking over the phone. But if you have any questions please feel free to call and discuss your requirements.

All bookings require a deposit of 30% of the total fee to be paid online at the time of making the booking; we cannot guarantee any bookings for which we do not hold a deposit. 

The remaining payment is due 8 weeks before your arrival by Bank Transfer.
